his stats arent close to trouts or altuve's.
the fact that trout is a handful of RS and RBIs behind donaldson (whos on a playoff contending team), and trout is on like the 6th or 7th worse team in baseball, just goes to show how much better trout is than donaldson. and how much better altuve is than everyone.

lolwut

Donaldson: 159 wRC+
Trout: 166 wRC+
Altuve: 167 wRC+

Donaldson is the best defender out of the group. Trout is the best baserunner(yes, there is more to baserunning than stolen bases).

It's really really close between those 3. Literally anyone of those guys could get it and it would be well deserved.

20 years old, going almost 30/50 in like 140 games, while leading the league in RS, SB and OPS+
not to mention the defense, he not only played a great CF that year, he robbed literally 4 HRs just that season.

Robbing HRs is pretty irrelevant. It depends on the stadium you play in/where you play in said stadium. Plenty of those HRs could have been caught by other OF's, but they don't all play in parks with a short fence that allows HRs to be caught.

Being a fan of Trout, I just can't fathom seeing him finish 2nd again... (if it does happen).

i can. aint no way he'll win another MVP award as an angel unless they make the playoffs, i dgaf what crazy numbers he puts up.
either that or like when harper won his cuz he was put up against 2 other guys whos teams didnt make the playoffs (although harper clearly deserved it)

He's on pace for like 90 XBH. He would def be in the conversation if he played his natural position(2B or CF).

Just like Edwin isn't.
Or Francisco Lindor.
Or Machado.

All fantastic players doing fantastic things. Just not the most fantastic.
