well since this is a fantasy thread, might as well post.

just traded Mark Trumbo for Buster Posey (to ease lmao)

My other C is Brian McCann, who is hitting .230 and doesnt even play every day. Other OFers are Adam Jones, Ryan Braun, Ian Desmond, Justin Upton, Dexter Fowler (DL) and I'll probably pick up BJ Upton when I drop McCann

who?

Well Trumbo is batting .285 with almost 30 jacks and 64 RBI and Buster is batting .289 with 11 jacks and 40 RBI's. Plus Trumbo has IF/OF playability. It's a big difference in name power but not huge when you consider production and positional tradeoffs

Posey is the top tier fantasy catcher; Trumbo even with the 26 jacks is not even close to being a top 1b or OF; so the value you're getting out of the top C is far greater than what you're getting for Trumbo. Not to mention Trumbo also comes with a shit load of strike outs and no walks deflating his value and will definitely see his numbers drop the rest of the year.

Whoever did that trade is stupid

Well the guy who traded me him also has Wilson Ramos, literally the top fantasy catcher this year. We don't get subtractions for K's in this league, and Trumbo's .340 OBP is not bad at all. This dude was aching for OF help and I had nothing at catcher. I can understand why you might think it would be lopsided but I don't see it that way. It's up to vote for the league tho so we'll see if they feel the same

i think its a good trade off for both sides, ur OF is stacked. trumbo is putting up AS numbers this year, but so is half of your OF (not including trumbo)

yea even if u dont drop mccann to get him, i'd drop the other upton for melvin. justin has just been horrible, and your OF is still already stacked where even if justin gets hot i dont see him taking a place from jones, desmond, braun or fowler..

Guess it's a little better without the K's and him having Ramos but what kind of league doesn't penalize strikeouts? lol

Still think it's a bit lopsided though. From our league leaders in our league (granted this league penalizes strikeouts)

Posey is the #1 Catcher, Ramos #2

Trumbo is the 7th best scoring 1b right and the 8th best scoring OF'r; one whom is certainaly going to regress the rest of the year.

Difference is there's a huge drop off after the top 3 catchers: Posey (252 pts), Ramos (232), Lucroy (231), next best drops to 188 (Perez).

It's a lot easier to find 1b/OF'rs on the waiver wire to produce at Trumbo's or close to it than it is to find a catcher that actually plays just about everyday.

Not to mention Buster is a known 2nd half killer and Trumbo has already started to come back to reality. He'll finish the year around .250 with 35-40 homers.
