You may be right. Springer is currently in second place behind the Blue Jays' Michael Saunders.
He still has all day today and then up until tomorrow afternoon. Going to be hard to close the gap.
Maybe if Springer misses out it will motivate him to have a monster second half. That would be better.

HOUSTON AP -- George Springer needs help to join the American League All-Stars in San Diego. The Astros' right fielder was in second place in the Esurance Final Vote in the AL as of Wednesday's update.

If he can surpass Toronto's Michael Saunders and stay in front of Dustin Pedroia, Ian Kinsler and Evan Longoria by 3 p.m. CT on Friday, Springer will be the third Astros player named to the 2016 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard, along with second baseman Jose Altuve and closer Will Harris.

I would say it's between Springer and Saunders fairly.

but after the Blue Jays getting jipped on that replacement pitcher spot when Estrada went on the DL, you gotta give it to Saunders.
