i doubt anything would come out of it negatively, as far as performance, hes a pitcher at bats mean nothing so he could easily do it and not register another hit all season and nobody would even question it lol
of course if he starts sucking on the mound u got problems, but i dont see that being affected

u mean the whole contest or what because clearly the guy can hit it outta the park, hes swinging at BP fastballs in the derby also so i dont see how he would get embarrassed unless he puts up a doughnut, even still hes a pitcher

I'd love to see it, it'd be different. But like said before, one thing goes wrong and he could fuck something up bad, which isn't worth losing his dominance over.

If Brandon Inge can get into a HR derby I am sure Bumgarner can.
