the Phillies just got a new TV deal and haven't spent any money and the fans are already freaking the fuk out over this monstrosity of a lineup. They've had a high payroll before and will have the money when they are prime to contend again.

Once again? This is the Philadelphia Phillies we're talking about right.
You could maybe argue they were monsters of the NL east for their 5 consecutive division titles. But its the NL east - I mean the braves had just gone 14 straight right before that.
If anything the Philadelphia Athletics were once monsters of baseball, but the Phillies, lolol.

Besides just the 2007 season where they won 89 games and the division...

2008 - 92 wins, Division title, World Series Champions.
2009 - 93 wins, Division title, National League Champions and another W.S. appearance
2010 - 97 wins, Division title, best record in MLB
2011 - 102 wins, Division title, best record in MLB

But please, tell us again how they were "just monsters of the NL East" :rofl:
