Man, getting completely different mixed results lol

Looks like sherzer, cole, and bautista are the consensus top 3.

Yea I'm thinking about throwing tulo back to FA, so that leaves Braun, betts, kluber for that 5th spot

Last year we told you to keep Sonny and you didn't listen :(

He pitched like ass in fantasy playoffs and hamels was his best then. Glad I didn't listen.

And for those of you just saying "trade bats/Braun" etc, it's not always that easy because other guys know I'm trading them since I can't keep em again. I don't have much leverage there so it'll take the right trade partner.

according to SB nations rankings (which are debatable, i understand):

sherzer is the #2 pitcher for next year
cole is the #11 pitcher next year
kluber #16 pitcher next year

braun #6 OF next year
bautista #7 OF next year
betts #9 OF next year
sano #16 OF next year

i dont think sano will be eligible for anything but DH next year to start for my league, so hell have to play 10 games at 1b, 3b, or OF before gaining any sort of eligibility.

our rosters are pretty small too:

C/1b/2b/ss/3b/OF/OF/OF/UT - were talking about adding another UT or INF spot, but nothing set in stone yet

overall, categories are equal for pitching and hitting, but it seems over the last 2 years that pitching has been more important, as the best teams have always had top notch pitching

im honestly surprised at the disrespect braun is getting from a fantasy perspective.

his numbers last year:

87/25/85/24 - .285 avg, .854 OPS

considering he missed some time with injury that he had surgery on this offseason, along with a little bad luck in the .babip/hard hit department, he has a very high floor and an enormous ceiling.

the only knock on him that i have is he could either be traded at some point or stuck in the middle of a pretty underwhelming offense if the brewers fire sale and cant move braun.

The lineup is the problem

You think it's bad enough it'll kill his counting stats?

He still plays in one of the NLs best hitter parks, and he's one of select few players in baseball capable of a 30/30 season and as close to a lock for 20/20 season there is.

I'd choose Sano over Bautista even though they're arguably the same player (Bautista probably will drive in more runs in the TOR lineup) but Sano has the edge as you've already protected Bautista twice (meaning you would lose him regardless next year anyways)

Cole
Scherzer
Kluber
Betts

Braun is a question mark due to that back surgery he had and he won't drive in many runs with that pathetic team and would be the last person I would choose to protect.
Sano will be in OF for the Twins and has a much higher ceiling.

Ideally the bolded I would keep for sure

The 5th is really your call if you would want another OF'r (even though they're a dime a dozen to fill) or Tulo

I lean towards Tulo due to the SS scarcity in MLB (although it's getting better with Correa and Seager being called up) but the injuries and him not hitting in Coors anymore worry me; so I went with Sano.
