If player doesn't use roids, why would you compare him to Bonds? It's an artificial standard--one that cannot be achieved until the MLB starts mandating that all players use steroids.

So what about evolutions in equipment and pitching techniques etc etc?

Obviously can't compare era to era based on this logic.

People today have access to the same technology as Roger Maris and still have yet to break his record.
