Is punching your wife really putting yourself before your team? In that elevator, was Ray thinking to himself "Man, I know my team really needs me for next year, but I REALLY have to punch my fiancee in the face RIGHT NOW. Fuck the team."

Putting yourself before the team seems like a conscious decision you make. Like "I could attend OTA's, but I'd rather go on vacation" or "I could play this game, but my kid is being born"
