bro it's his first year off of tommy john and first year passing 180+ IP. He is a star and will be one of the best pitchers in baseball for a long time. This is a solid comeback season he's still having.

He's certainly one of the most talented in the game, but doesn't have the durability or stamina to be a true workhorse ace. He'll be 27 next year, time to shit or get off the pot if he wants to live up to the hype you guys give him. Either he's able to do it, or he's not. Nn to be overhyped by the New York media anymore.

Need a 200+ inning season out of him next season, and hope he doesn't get hurt or he'll have that made of glass reputation sticking to him.

He's only at 166 innings this season thus far, still has plenty to go to reach that 200 mark.

And that 200 mark will INCLUDE playoffs, so he'll be nowhere near 200 in the regular season.

My point being - pitchers these days are SOFT AS FUCK

-Peace

I'm not jumping to conclusion, I'm simply saying he needs to take it to that next level next year as he will not have any excuses.

Mets need him in the playoffs, so at least they're playing it smart with the 6 man rotation to keep the arms fresh and the innings low.

he took it to the next level and beyond his rookie year. then he had tommy john and still put up all star numbers. Sure, he isn't the dominant beast he was prior injury, but this is his most taxing year in terms of IP and it's the year he's coming back from tommy john. there's nothing to worry about in terms of his talent or anything like that. the only thing we need to worry about is whether or not we'll be able to keep him/he'll want to stay. OH, #1 pitcher ace cole hamlols never had a bad outing?....

Cole Hamlols had plenty of bad starts, but he's also averaged 30+ starts and 200+ innings a season for like 9 years...

Every pitcher has bad starts, I wasn't talking about that. I'm talking about his ability to go deep into the season. I understand he's coming off TJ surgery, so he gets a pass somewhat BUT what will you say next year when he can't go the distance?

he's had 2 "full" years: one where he was dominant and on on pace to compete/win the cy young but got hurt late in the season and this season where he's coming of TJ.

just stop man.
