This is going to be an incredibly short series if the bats don't wake up. Unfortunately, I think it will be.

Wheeler game 1

Sanchez game 2

Nola game 3

3 All-Star starters this season. 😎

Love this. Sanchez has an incredible home ERA (2.21) and has been trash on the road (5.02). Give Nola the road start, he has been there before too.

Then Ranger Suarez game 4. Hopefully he has his early season dominant juice back.

That's a nice way to say that Nola got demoted to 3rd rofl

This decision looks foolish as fuck now since you lost game 1. Now you're throwing out Sanchez for an absolute must win? If Nola is valued that high, he starts game 2 no funny business. Other teams don't do this shit for "aces."

You use your second best pitcher to pitch the second game.

In no way can this be viewed as a demotion for Nola lol. If anything it shows how much they trust him to take the tougher challenge of starting on the road.

Also, why in the world would you give Sanche the road start? He has been absolutely dominant at home but shit on the road.

The real reason is they can separate their righty and lefty starters now. By having Sánchez in Game 2 and Suárez in Game 4, the Phillies can apply aggressive tactics. There is an off day after each of those games. If the Phillies can expect decent length from Wheeler and Nola, they can lean on their bullpen if either Sánchez or Suárez struggles (or both do). Even if they pitch well, Thomson can have a quicker hook and not feel as though he’s endangering his relievers.

It makes sense...

Yes because your bullpen did so well in game 1 😅

It doesn't and you're doing everything to defend this stupid decision.

Second best pitcher pitches in game 2..

If he doesn't, and the Phillies lose game 2, essentially losing the series while nola hasn't pitched, then it's a fireable.
