I know i didn't get a chance to get on and post, but no longer will we get to say "CHOOOOOOOOCH" at games

Sad day my little mexican friend. One of the last remaining pieces of the once Championship core (along with Ryan Howard who will also be gone after this season).

Ruiz had been a beloved member of the Phillies organization since signing as an amateur free agent in 1998. He was a big part of their string of five straight postseason appearances from 2007-2011, which included a World Series championship in 2008, and held a special bond with teammates past and present. Among them is former Phillies ace Roy Halladay, who shared the following quote in tribute to Ruiz on Thursday.

Quote (Roy Halladay)
Chooch was the little engine that could for a team loaded with big names, but no player was more valuable to the team as a whole than Carlos! He was so humble and grateful, you couldn’t help but just want to do anything for him including win! He flawlessly handled one of the greatest pitching staffs ever assembled and was just as important offensively, as well. It was nothing short of miraculous that he could handle so many different personalities and approaches on a day-to-day basis the way that he did. He was the best catcher I’ve ever thrown to and, in my opinion, the best catcher in baseball in the years I was with him.

It’s going to be sad to see him without a Phillies uniform on and not seeing him sitting in his chair in the clubhouse with a smile. And just the way the fans treated Chase last week, Chooch is also deserving of that hero’s welcome. They are my two favorite players of all-time as well as favorite teammates. I was fortunate to have both of them in the clubhouse. I want to wish good luck to Carlos. Maybe one day when we’re old and gray we can come back to Philly!!

In other news, Ellis (who was the piece given up for Ruiz by the Dodgers) is sad that he won't ever get to catch Kershaw again..

Quote
Ellis was crushed. "To know that, in almost all likelihood, I will never get to catch [Kershaw] again is definitely the most devastating thing I'm feeling right now," he said.

hard to be good when like 5 of ur SP's go on the DL for not only the rest of the season, but 3 of them for next season as well, not to mention our 3rd baseman (who has been our best hitter outside of trout) is on the DL, our SS missed like 8 weeks, and our 1st baseman missed like 8 weeks.
rangers were complete shit when they had DL mode on and lost half their team. it happens... they were a 90 win team for 4 straight seasons, boom injuries and won 67 games, then won the division last season and will prolly will this season.

Richards (out since may 1st, TJS likely)
Heaney (TJS, out til 2018)
CJ (shoulder injury, did not pitch at all this season, out til next season)
Tropeano (TJS, out til 2018)
Street (out for rest of season, aka no closer)
Bedrosian (likely out for rest of season, aka no backup closer)

how can u win when u have no SP and the setup man and closer are out the entire season?

i seriously saw fernando salas closing a game the other day. its hard to watch this team. no SP, no pen.
weavers throwing a scorching 82mph and will likely retire after the season as i read. traded santiago.
came into the season with like 8 SP's, have now a legit 2 actually SP's, and skaggs just came back from TJS.

not really. you guys are just so 1 sided.
everyone says the phillies suck and DM can claim rebuild mode and its all good.
angels were demolished by injuries but that makes them a garbage team cuz they arent winning and i cant point out the DL list?

DM over here crying about trading a 37 year old catcher and no one says shit. whatever, lol.
