Arrieta clearly had more value to the Cubs than Harper did with the Nats.
Prove me wrong.
Prove me wrong then?
Nope not at all. Rizzo was good but not great.

Arrieta: 8.7 WAR, 3,630,000 salary
Bryce Harper: 9.9 WAR, 2,500,000 salary
Harper provided 1.2 more Wins than Arrieta AND was paid less per win.
Harper is more valuable than Arrieta in every sense. Just because Washington didn't make the playoffs doesn't diminish his value. You're basically saying every player on teams that don't make the playoffs is worthless. Which is fucking stupid.
You're also have no idea what would of happened if Arrieta didn't pitch out of his mind in the 2nd half. How can we assume that whoever pitched in his place wouldn't have allowed the Cubs to win those games? Maybe their ERA wouldn't have been 1.5, but who says it needs to be for the Cubs to win all those games? Maybe Chicago had Bostons version of Rich Hill in their system. Nobody knows and will never know. Doesn't make 90% of all players worthless because they don't make the playoffs...
