Hey y'all. After a year of riding my '12 Diamondback 6061's rear wheel somehow got bent to shit and there's no fixing it. Bike shop dude wants like $100+ to fix that shit so I'm gonna do it myself

I know it has a 7 speed cassette on a 26' wheel, if that means anything. Im pretty new to the technical aspect of bikes, previously I basically just knew to pedal fast.

Any tips/tricks or even links to a new wheel or just the cassette that will fit it would be super appreciated

I don't know much about the sport but I am personally very interested in getting into it myself.

I would pay the 100+ to have him fix it as that is a very important part of the bike that you do NOT want to get fucked up while riding ya know.

Another reason I would do that is you said "there's no fixing it" and then you say you're going to do it yourself lol. Seems like its a job you really didn't want to do by yourself but at the same time not pay too much for it. But in the end if you can't put out that type of coin then do what you gotta do.

Sorry this doesn't really answer your questions or may not be beneficial to you. I know those damn bikes can get expensive as shit I went into my local shop and saw one @$6k

have you ever tried to lace and true a wheel? Oh god are you in for a worlddddddddddd of frustration. That's why bike shops charge so much to do that shit.
