the only time you want to use a topwater frog like that is when you have a fair bit of cover on the surface of the water, or you can run it along a line of cattails or some such kind of heavy weedline like that.

i prefer to use an unweighted texas rigged worm or lizard in that situation though.

Big fishy.

Edit/ I live in Tennessee Not much salt water around.
