i want to buy a schwinn mountainbike just for occasional tours along rivers/through the woods/other offroad tracks.
im really not looking for a professional/expensive bike, just something that has reliable brakes and decent looks.
it is difficult to get one (from schwinn) here in germany, but i found this store that got them online and im debating, which one i order:

http://preiswerte-fahrradteile.de/Schwinn-Mesa-RH-51-cm-Farbe-schwarz
http://preiswerte-fahrradteile.de/Schwinn-Mesa-D-RH-51-cm-Farbe-red
http://preiswerte-fahrradteile.de/MTB-Schwinn-Mesa-D-RH-51cm-weiss/schwarz

that 500€ price tag is the maximum im willing to spend..
i wonder if the cheapest one here has noticable downsides compared to the most expensive one..

The last one is the best one obviously due to price.
It has the best brakes and fork of all the bikes.

Looks nice too.

Brakes depend a lot on how they're fitted from my own experience.

Id look for something a bit better especially if you have even the slightest notion that you might actually like riding. I spent around $630 usd on my 2012 Trek Wahoo and it was worth every penny, in fact I wish I could have bought a better bike. Trek makes some nice bikes and has awesome warranties but there are plenty of other good brands. IMO id avoid schwinn. Also its worth looking for a 29er, once you try one its pretty great.

If your only going to spend 500 and you want something good your going to have to look at something rigid. A decent fork alone normally runs 400+ and it would probably be better to run with a fully rigid bikr for now and upgrade if you choose to. If you skip the suspension you can get better components elsewhere instead of a cheaper bike all around

500 € > 630 $
reason to avoid schwinn ?
im riding my old mountainbike since 15 years. im just biking occasionally like 1 - 2 times in a month, sometimes more, sometimes less, i dont need professional gear here ("decent" mountainbikes cost way above 1000€). i was just wondering if spending the 100++ euro more for the better bike of those i posted are worth it.
thanks for the input, tho
