Thinking about buying a shotgun and I want something with a pistol grip and stock for sure. I havent seen many options aside from mossberg 500s with aftermarket stocks.
If that is the only option, how cheap can a mossberg be bought for? Could I get one under $200?

...dude, are you srs??

The Remington 870 has LOADS of aftermarket options. Comparable price-point to a Mossberg 500.

My buddy just picked up a brand new 870 with a pistol grip in georgia for $400. Granted that was on base so prices may vary.

Another buddy of mine recently picked up a nice used 870 for $250 in maine.

your best bet is going to be a lightly used 870, 500, or 590

all 3 have so many aftermarket parts and pieces you can get it exactly how you want it to be. you can grab an old 870 for ~300, 500/590s for ~250 (sometimes less if the wood is in bad shape) and spend less than 100 on stock and whatnot, and get it in whatever configuration you want

Not by a long shot.

Several people I know own the Benelli Supernova & for the $100 or so extra it runs compared to other shotguns in its class it shits all over them IMO.

Way better feel. Way more comfortable to shoot. Far better design overall (No slide slop, etc.)

List goes on & on. Bottom line do some research before you buy.
