In terms of HD shotguns, which do you prefer? Taking into consideration price, quality, ability to upgrade/accessorize, etc.

it doesnt really matter
both shoot the same gauges
it really just comes down to which one feels better in your hands

its between the rem 870 and moss 500 though
thats a given

mossburg 935 brand new in box have loved it since the day i opened it.... the 935's have a little issue cycling low brass 2 3/4 inch untill they ware in.
The mossburg 500/835 the safty swells over time and you have to grind them down. Only bad things about these guns.

Remington 1100 speical purpous are fine peices of equipment but you get a better bang for your buck outta mossburg.
Remington you actually have to change the barrel of the gun to change your choke from mod/full/extra full.
Mossburg you have a 3 inch tube that fits into the end of the barrel.

Do you like pump or semi auto?

^^ this.

Both have reliable track records, both are excellent quality for the price point. Both also have a number of aftermarket accessories to choose from.

Pretty much, it comes down to preference.

The best one to get is a 20-gauge Remington shotgun, after all, Kurt Cobain thought so.
