Opinions? Im in CA, so the argument about magazine capacity for a 9mm is irrelevant because CA law only allows 10rd mags. Other arguments I hear are price difference (9mm being cheaper), and stopping power (.45 auto). Lets hear what you guys think.

honestly it doesnt matter
yes 45acp does hit harder, but its all really about shot placement
correct shot placement with a 9mm and itll still drop a guy

if you took the chl class youd know there are factors you have to consider before shooting a bad guy
main factors that apply to your question are
who is behind the person im about to shoot
what is behind the person(house, oncoming cars, bystanders, etc)
45acp doesnt really help in these cases

i have all 3 9mm, 40sw, and 45acp
you'll have more control and consistency with a 9mm
and since 9mm is much cheaper youll have more practice time with it than a 45

10 rounds of 9mm is more than enough stopping power for 3 guys
not to mention majority of 45acp guns are heavier and you have to carry that around all day
its heavy enough for me to carry a subcompact 9mm all day

thats if you plan on carrying legally

for shooting range fun, stick to 22 because they're cheap
for protection, practice them both to see what you're most comfortable with and who else might use it (wife, kids, sister, etc).

why do people say this
if youre gonna settle for a .22 for "range fun" then you might as well shoot a bb gun cause the kick is no different and you'll REALLY be shooting cheap

.22 is good down the line when you get yourself familiarized/acquainted with shooting
then you can do drills with them and go advanced

i still have yet to buy a .22 cause i honestly think its a waste of money and space
only .22 i would get is an AR for cool factor
