Hey I'm looking towards buying a snowboard. I've never done that before so I'm a newbie. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out if I should go for a wide or a normal board. I'm 185 cm tall and weigth 180 pounds.

I want to go on mountains as well as in parks.

Thanks for advices! :)

well since you're just starting out, i'd recommend getting a regular all around board. Try using this http://www.burton.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Burton_US-Site/default/Product-BoardFinderShow

If you've never snowboard, i would go and rent one. Where do you live? If around NC, cataloochee cheap and pretty good.

Test it out before forking out the money. You'll be hooked as long as you have somewhat of good balance! GL

Rent, don't buy if you've never boarded before. You might end up breaking your wrists and not liking it...
Buy one next season over the summer.

Snowboarding is pretty difficult, compared to wakeboarding :(

def rent first. i did and was hooked.
for your setup i suggest normal, not wide boards for one.
two choose your boots and bindings first and then board.
three expect to pay at least $300 but possibly more. I spent $500 i think but i got a midlevel board setup.
