A forum for mountaineering/rock climbing/grappling/repelling/belaying ect.. a place for people who partake in said activities to post about their endeavors, experiences, maybe gear discussion, and so forth.

Not only would this be a place for us avid climbers to improve our climbing techniques and talk about our climbs amongst each other, but it would also hopefully get other newcomers into these extreme sports as well.

Fell free to voice what you think. Personally, I think this would be a good addition to the Sports Coliseum.

Wont be nearly big enough demand/want for this.
But if you feel there will be, post a suggestion to have this subforum implemented: http://forums.d2jsp.org/forum.php?f=258

Yes, unfortunately there probably is not a big enough demand for this on jsp. :(
I just figured that it is worth a try, competitive grappling and climbing are starting to get more popular now-a-days and imo its one of the most challenging non-team sports.

The physical demand for these sports are intense, and it is the most mentally challenging type of sports.
Most people say that golf is the most mentally challenging, but in grappling/mountaineering if you screw up you're dead.
Being that high up your adrenalin is constantly pumping, the hole time you have to try to maintain a calm and rational mindset and conserve your energy, not to mention you are constantly plotting your next move up the mountain, the hole time knowing that, yes, if you fuck up you are gonna fall to your death, or get stuck in a spot where you cannot progress upwards or back downwards neither.

basketball can be played outside, tennis is played outside for the majority ,etc etc

we're not gonna move those into the outdoor sports sub forum if there is 1?

i agree with grouping it with something else if possible, but i think a simple "The Great Outdoors" sub forum would more than suffice for the OP's suggestion and others not only pertaining to sports

with that being said, its kind of a debate of whether mountain climbing is a sport in the 1st place? wheres the competition?
im not bashing it at all im just thinking maybe it doesnt even belong in the sports coliseum's sub forums
