Looking to start hunting and need to buy my first rifle. What is a good beginner rifle for hunting in Alaska priced under $500? I have been looking at guns on this shop currently and found this, good or no?

well looking at 30-06 is the right move, i would sugest staying with that, now it comes down to what you want

while Remington makes good stuff there is better stuff out there in the same price range on that same website you were using heres a cupple more to look at and look up reviews

I think it's mostly brown/black bears and deer/goat. Thanks for the links, is there anyway to tell what type of scopes are mounted on the rifles?

It comes with a
pre-mounted and boresighted 3-9x40mm riflescope

Does the brand of the scope make a difference? I'm not too sure if that is a good scope or not also.
