Ok, I am looking at a new 2010 Burton Blunt board. Im like 5'9 and 220 pounds. My current board is a 151 cruzer, but I want to get into park. Should I stick with a 151 or go up to a 155? or do I go wide and get a 153. Also, will custom bindings work well with this board? Or do I need to go with a better binding. Thanks. Serious answers only please.
It really depends. Shorter board results in being able to spin more easily, and more control when doing rails and jibbing. I prefer a shorter board because I can spin much easier, while still having enough control in the air. Longer board will result in better all mountain riding(in deep powder), and having more control in the air, and less chance of getting off balance in the air. But you'll lose the ability to due faster spins off of jumps and have more board control on rails. If you're new at park I'd stick with a farily standard board size. If you have bigger feet go with the wide, if you have normal size feet go with a 154/155. As you get more experienced you'll learn what style fits you best, but 155 is a farily standard board size for your height/weight.
Also I don't have much experience with Burton Equipment(have a Rome Agent/Technine Bindings), but some Burton boards have weird binding setups, you could probably go into a local sporting goods store(Scheel's, Dick's, or a local snowboard/skate shop), to see if they have that model of board and if it will fit your bindings.
