snowboarding since i was 6... so experienced enough.

but i have no clue where to begin talking so got any specific questions?

about equipment: go to shops, ask around what a good brand is > check internet > read about it and make up your mind. there is never something that is 'the best'. one board will fit me best and the other will fit you best.

For snowboarding, get what ever looks/works good for you, it really doesnt make that big a difference between a 200 board and 1000$ board.

And if you are looking to spend money, invest more in bindings than a board

Here is my first board.

Option influence board
Burton Custom bindings
Burton H.O.D. boots

Like Varsity said, invest more in bindings than in board.
Being comfortable on a 250-300 bucks board is much more important than not being comfortable on a 600 bucks board.

Try this setup if you want. :)
To see what my board looks like... look in my profile and check out my pictures/images.

That setup cost me around 600 Canadian dollars... don't know prices in USA though.

I think it's a really great starting gear.

Go with something that will slowly get you into the "mood"..

theres not really a brand that will make you snowboard.. its how you feel and how you ride

a suggest renting a few to start out with, and taking it from there
