most of the stuff is packed
cloth bag is ready
lures are rdy
rods too
I cleaned up the cooler...how something can be dirty when I closed it clean 8 months ago, I shall call mythbuster on this one
every battery was changed on every flashlight, lantern, the sonar, etc

I'm leaving at 8 am tomorrow, we go buy the food and a few more things and that's it

I'm debating bringing the bow as I'm not a pro and I don't want an accident to happen up there

I was just giving you crap. I could understand that fine. And if nothing else he will catch a buzz. I went out yesterday for a few hours with my cousin pike fishing. We trolled all around the lake and not even a strike. I ran to the bait shop and got some nice shiner minnows and even tried them, but no luck. The fish must be on vacation this weekend too

Went fishing in the atchafalaya basin Saturday, managed to catch few bream. Biggest was a nice 9.5inch I caught in between a few cypress trees.

The water is still too high right now though, the fish are all in the woods where you can't get to them unless you've got a kayak or a pirogue. It was a awesome day on the water regardless.

Won't be able to go fishing for a few weeks so hopefully by then it should be perfect.

it was awesome
I did not take any pic of the fish I caught..nor the lake I went because I was really drunk the whole time except this morning
I did took the picture of the view I had every morning and every night, it was amazing

first day; it was raining alot, alot, ALOT
it did not stop us from trying to catch some pike ...with no succes
we did some adventuring, we went up a creek and end up on an another lake, we could not use the motor..it's a real challenge when you are drunk
we went back to the main lake and tried a few spots

2nd day: we went on another lake with pikes in it
we didn't catch any in the morning until we came back in the afternoon and we saw a creek right in front of a small bay with herbs ..it was too perfect
we caught like 8 pikes a couple hours I kept one and ate it, it was really good
we got raped by mosquitos..it was terrible, mosquitos spiral, off, lighter + a spray can would not get them away

3rd day: we went on a lake with trouts in it
we had to one mile hike in the forest...it was pretty intense, we went up a hill and the last 50 feet was all swamp with thousands of mosquitos ready to kill us
on top of that, we forgot the off, lighter and everything that could have helped us ..in the car
we later found out that the off was Under the beers in the bag...shit happens when you're drunk
we once again got eaten alive by mosquitos
I caught 10 trouts in a few hours, I could have caught more but we didn't go back in the afternoon...for good reason

4th day: we went back on the same lake as the 2nd day, we went to the exact same spot and we caught like 6-7 pikes in a couple hours again
we got tired so we decided to go up that creek too, we did it once, why not twice!
this one was way harder, at a moment we had a inch of water and then right after it was back to a feet and a half
we almost flipped the boat a few times to finally get to the point we couldn't go anywhere, we stopped and enjoyed the view we had, it was amazing
we went back down and it was like rafting except this boat wasn't made for that, we were doing 360s hitiing trees and what ever that was on the side
a pike attacked my hand while I was trying to unhook him, he jumped out of the water and tried to bite my hand / slapped me with his head / did not like to see the plier get that close to him, anyway! ..that bastard was strong

good fishing trip

oh I have to tell you, I caught 4 pikes with your spoons

2 with the orange one
and more 2 with the yellow/orange and silver on the back

pikes loved yellow/orange on that lake

gl on your fishing trip, where are you going?

awesome, nice placeI am going atmy chalet for a few days, the lake is really not that good for fishing. Theres waleye/pike/ouananiche/perch.

BUT, in small quantities except for perch whio totally swarms the lake, which then feeds the walleye and pikes who wont bite ur lures.

Last year I cought a small perch while trolling and while i was reeling it in, a HUGE pike attacked it, fought with it for 5 mins and he broke my line at the boat was easily over 40 inches.

So there are surprises in there, but it requires patience.

However as long as i have beer, patience is not a problem.
