I usually have 2-3 poles with different lures for that reason, especially since I don't move away from the jig/senko/spinner too often. If I have to stop to change color, nothing was biting on what I had anyway.

I do mostly river fishing and losing lures is common due to snags and rocks cutting your line at times. I generally only bring one one pole with me when I go, and try to condense as much as possible because some of the best spots to go are a long walk from where you can drive(I do have spares in my truck). A couple of my favorite salmon holes are a mile or two upstream from the last place you can drive a vehicle, and hauling salmon back with 3 poles would be a pain in the ass its bad enough with 1 pole and a net and tackle.

Yeah, I figured as much. I think the farthest I've hiked for a spot was about a mile and a half (not counting the walk around the lake), so no big deal to bring a few in.

the worst I did was to bring a cooler, 4hp motor, 3 rods, tackle box a mile in the forest

it was painful

I also climbed a mini mountain/went up hill with a cooler, 2 rods and a tackle box, that was pretty intense

Yeah the things we do to go fishing, lol. One of my favorite small mouth bass spots is in a small river that has high banks, like 150-300 feet depending on where you go. It's a bitch just to climb with your gear down there, but I walk the river with a rattletrap or a deep diving rapella and slay the smallies all day long. They aren't real big about 12-16 inches average, but they are fun to catch and put up a good fight.

Yeah, a lot of the places I go are overgrown and just thick, but that's part of what keeps people out and makes the fishing good there.

my favorite small mouth spot is in a rich neighbourhood
you gotta walk about half a mile and they all look at you
then you gotta go in the ''forest'' (it's what they call it) then go down to a hill ...during that moment, they are all looking at you wondering what you're doing down there

hello, bunch of rich idiots, I have a fishing rod, a backpack and the water is right in front of you, I cant help much more

I catch 3-4 pounds every time I go there, there is also some decent walleye at night and I guess pikes are somewhere around but I never catched any

Around here I have my best luck for pike on minnows with a bobber. If I am using artificial bait I use a vibrating bucktail, like a mepps H210 (they are big about 3 ounces and 9 inches long). I'm going out morel mushroom hunting this afternoon once the rain stops, wish me luck!

Only found this lonely guy. It's just the start of season, but this is a decent find I guess it's better than getting skunked..

This time of year the high is about $60, as the season progresses goes down to a low of about $45 per pound. This year you have to take a class in our state in order to sell them. People were misidentifying them and selling people poisonous mushrooms.
