I did live something similar

I go fish at ILE DES SOEURS, right next to montreal(South shore) on the Saint-Laurent

I usually catch a couple bass but nothing more

one day, I caught 6-7 bass in just about 40 minutes, they would attack as soon as it touched the water
and If i failed to hook them, the jig would fly out of the water, the bass would jump too and try to eat it
I had to leave to go fish with my step bro on the north shore of montreal

nothing like it since than

That is pretty strange. I read this in the morning and thought about it a little today. I assume with the size of the bass you are quoting you are in the south, because they dont seem to get that big up here in the north(bass don't grow in the winter up here). I have a feeling maybe most of the feeder fish were probably eaten up. With all those big fish eating everything smaller than them, they are probably feeding on the baby carp and when they run of them there's not much else to eat. Maybe that year was a bad year for the carp spawn and they had much less natural food and finally decided to go for your artificial bait. There is a lake a couple miles from my house that has huge bass in it for around here(5-6 lbers) but I can never catch them. The lake is called crystal lake because it is spring fed and its crystal clear, on a sunny day you can see 40-50 deep, its crazy. But I tried everything to catch them, artifical ,natural, even caught smaller fish and used them for bait with no luck. I hope one day I have the same shit happen to me where they are all hungry and I can catch them. I bet that was some fun times right there.

I'm in california.

It was amazing times... I stopped taking trips to clear lake, the delta, etc.. because this place was a 5 min drive from my house.

Id just load up the kayak and go.

I might try it out tomorrow and see how it goes, it touched like 70 degrees today.. but i still think it might be a little too cold.

Yeah we do fish for them here, but not as big of a thing as the sport fishing is. Bow hunting carp off a flat bottom boat is pretty popular here. We do it at night with spot lights, it's pretty fun. Suckers run in the creeks and rivers here in the spring so thick some places you can literally just go into the water with a baseball bat and start swinging away and catching the floaters. I don't eat either one, but the brothers will pay $5 a fish for anything decent sized and fresh.

Yeah man you should try it. It's a blast. Right now where I live we spear pike through the ice, that can be pretty intense too.

this would prob be illegal in UK lol carp is pretty expensive fish, iv heard that people who own fishing farms for commercial fishing pay like £100-300 per decent size one ( thats 150-450$ )

I've been talking to my friends about where I go fish and they all wanan come and see how it is
no luxury at all, etc

I'd need to have like 8 fishing trips this summer

I'm wondering if the boss will allow me to go that many times :(
