sounds good though i never heard of or seen fn barrels for ar
chrome lined is good
try and spend $50 more for the BCG and get the nickel boron coated
trust me when i say it is WORTH it

to clean nickel boron you practically just take a try paper towel and just wipe it lol
not to mention you can see how dirty it is
also natural lubrication(though im not telling you to NOT add lubrication)

iirc FN does more of the heavy contour barrels for full auto m16 variants, in fact im pretty sure they made a shitload of barrels for our military (it may have been entire uppers, not sure)

FN typically supplies only to military but some places carry parts from them now.

I got my lower ready to go, rail sitting at home, upper/gas block/flash hider/ gas tube in the mail.
Just need a barrel, BCG and CH. Then some optics (probably magpul flip ups for now)
Oh and I gotta pick up a forward assist assembly and dust cover assembly to complete my lower.

Id love a NiB BCG but they are almost double what im hoping to pay. $590 into the build so far (including a bit of shipping costs) and not much left.

ic
barrels are easy to find and have alot of good known brands out there
so try not to get too fancy on the brand of the barrel

i gave you the link to the nickel boron bcg
guess you dont want that?
its 10x better than basic bcg for only $50 more

I actually found the same BCG for $150 without the hammer. Is it a special hammer or something? Not sure why I would need it. For $150 I might consider it, but i was hoping to pick up a spikes tactical for 100 or so.

The BCG I saw wasnt actually a failzero. It was some pretty shady advertising. They had failzeros and some off brand crappy chrome bcgs under the same listing as the NiB fail zeros. The fail zeros were still $200+ so im back to square 1.

I finally got a chance to go home and check out my SAR rail and it seems quite nice. The mounting system is strange but it looks and feels solid. Another plus is that the rail can be quickly removed without messing with the barrel nut. The receiver and a couple other parts will be here tuesday and im about to order a barrel and dust cover assembly (cant seem to find a forward assist assembly at the moment).
Then I just gotta find a bcg and charging handle and its pretty much done.

I dont think I will be shooting enough to justify spending double the cost of other BCGs. Granted all of the quality BCGs around the $100 are pretty much out of stock world wide.
Cheapest charging handle Ive seen new is around 15 or so but I kinda wanna wait for the new Rainier ambi one to come out.

Again, not really worth spending the money for me.
