I used to do this up to 7 days at a time. Right after i got back from overseas....i wasn't used to city life. daily grinding just to get home and be stuck in a fucking box that isn't even bullet proof. felt weird sleeping anywhere else besides near my fireplace where the wall is nearly all bricked.
I had to deal with that for a solid 7-8 months before i finally just moved to colorado and got a house/cabin near durango. I lliterally hike 50-100 miles from my house and just cross all sorts of private properties before i get to a place where their is no human foot print. you dont even see fucking cows. I just like chilling out there with a little bit of CBD and cannabis concentrates while grilling up some goooood steaks the first 2 nights,.
I make my own dehydrated foods if i go out for longer then 3+ days. Tired of that mountain house/MRE shit. I'd rather just eat spam and fucking bread.
It's pretty fun. It's super relaxing. Sometimes i take a few buddies with me but they bring the whole "city" vibe with them so I tell them to shut the fuck up pretty often.
You can pack A LOTTT of gear when it comes to a 40-45lb limit. I was used to 60-75 lbs, and 80-85 on the heavier side for 28 months out of 36 straight months.
So i can just pack what i need for 7 days. Start out with 80ish lbs which kills the fuck out of me but 5 lbs of that is food that will be eaten within 36 hours.
fucking love it. I wish i could meet more people to go out with.
I usually go when it rains so no one wants to go with me. People are scared of elks and bears here. They dont want to leave their rifles lol
Damn that sounds pretty cool lol
