larue has quad rails too
they just have that spacer between the rail and the upper

unless youre talking about the obr/predatar handguards then yea i totally feel you on those
but it sucks that its only larue upper compatible so you dont have a choice on the upper

Im not a fan of the spacer on the larue rails Ive seen. I gotta figure out what rail Im gonna go with.

Also, what is a bullet button? Ive seen it mentioned before but didnt know what it was exactly. Mag release??

are you in CA?
its a mag release that requires you to use something small like a tip of a bullet to press down
instead of being able to push the whole button down with your fingers

Finally ordered me a rail. I went with the Seekins Precision/Spikes Tactical (both sell them) SAR rail. Spent $270 on it plus 2 pmags and a 5 pack of magpul dummy rounds ($3 and they look pretty cool, plus good for an easy function test during assembly as they are made to spec)

Still gotta decide what barrel and upper receiver to go with as well as optics (nothing fancy yet, probably just some magpul flip ups)

This is the rail I ordered. 12" with anti-rotation tabs and the top rail meets the receiver flush which is one thing I wanted for sure. From what I hear its a solid rail and one of the lightest on the market.

My friend just bought the same M&P the other day. We went shooting and it was fairly nice. Not my favorite pistol but the mag capacity surprise me.


Im trying to keep the upper and barrel cost as low as I can but ill probably end up going for a cold hammer forge, chrome lined 16" FN barrel and a spikes receiver and BCG. Ill be over my planned budget but ill have a nice barrel, a nice rail, and magpul furniture.

Right now ive spent $455 and ive got the complete lower and then the rail.
Im hoping to spend at most:
$250 for the barrel, gas block and gas tube.
$150 for the BCG and charging handle
$100 for the upper receiver

Should keep me under a grand pretty easily. More than I was planning on spending but from what Ive seen I could probably sell the rifle for a good bit of profit if I wanted too.

try and spend $50 more for the BCG and get the nickel boron coated
trust me when i say it is WORTH it

to clean nickel boron you practically just take a try paper towel and just wipe it lol
not to mention you can see how dirty it is
also natural lubrication(though im not telling you to NOT add lubrication)
