very lucky catch, was fishing for perch and at the end put on a big lure just for fun, after few casts hooked this monster!

Good Luck!! They don't run here until the fall. You can catch them out on charter boats right now in lake Michigan, but I prefer to catch them in the river, it's just so much more fun.

My gf's dad has a boat that we're going on.
This is my first time ocean fishing in a long time.
He's limited out in under two hours the past 5 days.

That's awesome when you can stack em up like that. I remember when I was a kid and snagging was legal, there were so many fish in the river, it would literally turn black when the schools of salmon would come in to spawn by the thousands. You could just cast and pull and get one every time. 25 years later and snagging has been illegal for 15 years and there still is only about 1/10 of the fish there used to be. The big ones are bigger than they were back then, but much fewer and far between. I think commercial fishing and asian carp are going to wipe our salmon out before I am too old to go anymore. The state even stocks 10's of thousands every year and it's nothing like it was not too long ago.

Hit the ocean and within give minutes hooked a 14lb king.
Other guy got an 18lb king.

I've been river fishing for the past 7 hours
I only hooked one bass and the fucker unhook himself
It may be my fault tho, i kept putting more drag because there was rock everywhere
very nice fight, he was jumping out of the water non stop and my med-hvy rod could barely bring him back
I'd have loved to see it closer but it did seem like a trophy bass by the way he was pulling
