Rugby requires the most all around athleticism, and is one of the most difficult (in terms of overall necessary skills) sports I've ever played.

I'd argue wrestling/MMA are also extremely difficult as well.

On OP's list I'd say Hockey, then football, then basketball, then baseball. (rugby/wrestling in my book are more respected than them in terms of difficulty). IDK much about soccer (futbol).

Voted hockey, even though it's my least favorite out of the four.

Are you kidding me?

Percentage of college and HS athletes that go pro. Stats:

Baseball: 11.6% college, 0.6% high school
Football: 1.7% college, 0.08% high school
Hockey: 1.3% college, 0.1% high school
Basketball: 1.2% college, 0.03% high school

Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/odds-college-athletes-become-professionals-2012-2?op=1

It's basketball. They have the smallest teams. It's harder to make it into the NBA than any of those leagues. A third less of HS basketball players go pro than HS hockey players.

Yup.

Hardest league to get into. Only 12 players on each roster, and only 30 teams in the league. That's roughly 360 players in the league, and you have MILLIONS and MILLIONS of players around the world trying to get in.

Yep, and it all stems from the fact that basketball only has 5 players on the court at a time for each team, way less than the other sports listed.

The reason it HAS to be basketball is because of the physical requirements to become a pro when compared to other sports. What are the odds of someone below 6 feet making it in the NBA? Extremely low.

You have to be genetically gifted, athletically talented, and compete against thousands to get on a very small roster.
