as long as you make sure you keep it closed when not in use, so if you somehow did get over turned all your tackle doesn't fall out of your floating box. Did you test it with all the lures in it also?

yep
I've only tested it in my baththub but it was floating very well, even with all my knives in the exterior mesh Pocket

I have been looking at boats on Craigslist. I'm wanting to get a little 10 or 12 ft flat bottom boat. Nothing special, just a little brush beater for some backwoods honey hole fishing. Some of the spots I go, you have to carry the boat a ways to get to the water, but the fishing is worth it!

Me too. Not sure if I want a fold up canoe/kayak because of that or if I want to get a bass boat now that I have a truck to tow it with first.

I have a big Canoe,17 ft aluminum Grumman, but it's a pain to carry a 1/2 mile sometimes, plus all your gear, and fish when your coming back. I made a cool little trailer for pulling it by hand, out of an old yard tractor trailer, but through the woods its still a giant pain in the ass. I figure a 10 ft jon boat I can rig up some kind of Harness style riggings with paracord and maybe be able to have my dog pull it, he pulls my deer out of the woods for me. I guess that's what happens when a guy catches bluegills that are all over a foot long. You keep coming back, even if its a bitch to get to. I got a michigan master angler award for bluegill, and every one in this pond is another. Blue gills have to be 10" or longer and weigh over 1 lb. to be considered.

I did the same with a crossbow today. I work 3 days a week at a pawn shop, and a guy came in with a crossbow, the cocking string,2 bolts with field tips and a container with probably 10 field tips in it. I didn't need one for the store (we have 2 and bow season isn't until fall) so I told the guy I wasn't interested, he said" Not even for twenty bucks man? I need gas money bad." So I bought it out of my wallet, and stopped by the sports shop after wok and bought 3 carbon fiber bolts for it. I'm going to teach my daughter how to shoot it this weekend. Shes 12 and she can deer hunt with a bow this fall, so why not get her a crossbow for cheap. Hell the bolts cost me $8.99 each, I have more into them than I do the bow. It's nothing special, probably a $100-$120 starter from some low end sports shop, but heck I couldn't go wrong and I know exactly what you mean. If nothing else we will have some fun quality time together sighting it in and practicing shooting it. So that's priceless in itself having my 12 year old daughter actually wanting to hang out with me and do something outside instead of snap chatting and watching vine videos..lol I can always use it for shooting carp and suckers once I get a jon boat here in the near future.
