that's what i'm worried about lol
it has been a long winter and it's still pretty cold outside
i'm going 250-280 km up north from montreal
i know it will be freaking cold but i just hope i won't be ice fishing

i had a shimano stradic ci4 4000 and a fenwick aetos 6'6 medium power

i bought a heavy power st croix premier and a pflueger patriach 3000

i now have a heavy power rod that weight a bit less then a pound
and
a medium power rod that weight 285 gram

that's crazy

it's amazing wut they are doing with rods and reels these days eh' , started working for a sporting goods store a couple times a week again for the next month or two so i can get the 20% off.

Yeah it's way crazy to me. I'm 40 and have been fishing all my life. I can't believe the strength and sensitivity they can put into a rod now days compared to the shit we used to use. I still have cane poles I use every year for blue gill fishing out of the boat. 14 to 20 foot poles with 15-20 ft of line, it's so fun to catch anything on them, even a little fish feels big.

I started going that direction last year. My main rod is a medium power. Total between that and the reel was a little under $200. Weighs 6oz combined. It is a bit of a bad thing though. After setting that one up, using anything over a pound just feels barbaric.

yeah lol..that's why i bought all new rods
i took my friend's rod and fished with it and i felt like it was weighting 20 pounds
