concerning the swimming events, i'd take all the finger pointing and accusations with a grain of salt...
to me, it's somewhat hilarious how everyone is outraged about russia's state sanctioned, systematic doping (that part i still get obviously, they should have been banned entirely imo) but no one seems to question those athletes and nations who constantly break world records and win gold medals competing against these cheaters.
that either means the russians are just so incredibly bad that even cheating doesn't elevate them over the rest of the competition, or others are likely not clean either and just haven't been found out yet. i'm sure the USA aren't the only country with an outstanding swimming program, yet they absolutely dominate the swimming events, one of the most doping ridden disciplines out there. honi soit qui mal y pense...
