All the stats I mentioned were over 81 games from the regular season. Large sample size.

Plus Bogut will decline and Biyombo will improve.

That said Bogut was a very good pick and great value where Haras got him. He shouldnt have dropped that far, when you look at remaining centers and want a rim protector with upside they are basically gone now.

Bogut vs Biyombo was what I was considering but I decided to go with improvement over decline and missing games due to injury. Bogut misses 15-20 in a good year. That's a lot of lost value with potnential for more.

But I figured I shouldnt pick Biyombo because no one would check out the synergy stats and people would call him overrated. Perception matters. But when I wanted a big who could alter shots at the rim and rebound at an elite level and be durable because so many bigs go down and had upside, he was the choice.

Again, -10.1% from 0-3 feet. Elite rim protection.

And I'm saying wait til we see him as a featured center next year before we get ahead of ourselves. Plenty of players do well in limited minutes but then struggle when they get more minutes and responsibilities.

I'd take biyombo over bogut in a draft due to health. However, skill wise I'm taking bogut (meaning excluding injuries). Every time

Sure, I agree with that. But he's a bench big for me :)

Remember, people are obsessed with what he did this postseason (and I like it, too) but those stats I gave you were over 81 games in the regular season in the exact role I will be asking him to be in.

Elite rim protector, elite rebounding (offensive and defense), suprisingly versatile perimeter defender.

Biyombo on the way up, Bogut on the way down.

Bogut misses ~15-20 games in a good year, sometimes more, Biyombo durable.

I agree. I believe I said that in my initial post was biyombo is great if you limit your expectations of him and only play him limited minutes.

We're on the same page I think just arguing for the sake of arguing baha

Yeah, I get you. I agree that Bogut is the better player when healthy, but I don't know where he will be in 2-3 years. And I also don't know if he will be healthy.

But yeah, if there is a 100% chance he is healthy, and I'm only looking at next year, I'll take Bogut over Biyombo as a bench big. But that's not the scenario.

Fair enough. Agreed.

Greg Monroe and Demarre Carroll

Think I made out like a bandit with Monroe and Carroll is a solid enough pick for this point in the draft

Carrols a good pick. Solid value here
I disagree with Monroe though

Carroll is a good pick. He was one of the ones I was deciding on with my last pick. I went with Ariza over Carroll due to injury concerns.

For better or worse, I'm going hard on injury concerns. We only get 12 guys for 3 years so we can't afford many risks. Carroll is probably fine going forward, though.

I also think Monroe was a solid pick. He's shat on too much. Look at the defensive synergy stats, they aren't that bad. Defensive labels, whether they are poor or good, stick too much to players without much of a credible basis. He's a solid backup big.

I think Monroe was selected at good value, he just isn't a good fit for his team

PG: Lowry
SG: Bledsoe
SF: DeRozan/Carroll
PF Kawhi/Markieff
C: Howard/Valanciunas/Monroe

He's basically drafted the Raptors with better depth, but that team wasn't even good enough to compete for a title in a 30 team league, let alone a 12, and Kawhi isn't going to make up the difference, despite how great he is.

On top of that he has way too many big men, and Monroe and Valanciunas have similar styles, so he isn't really diversifying his team with that selection.

Just my opinion.

Oh, I see. Yeah, with two centers already, you probably go for a guard with that pick instead of another center.
