i'm not convinced he's way better, marginally better at best

They're on roughly the same level IMO.

Ibaka is the better defender, but Monroe is a vastly better passer and gets to the free throw line nearly 3 times as much. After Ibaka's regression this year I'd say Monroe is better right now.

I was gonna grab him if he was miraculously still available by my pick.

One of the steals of the draft, I half regret not taking him sooner, but the guards were too good to pass up that late.

Yeah. If you're looking for good passing and shit defense/slow offense. Monroe is your guy.

I mean, the difference in passing means Monroe is the much better offensive player.

He's also a very good defender, Ibaka is just elite.

Ibaka 3 years ago was vastly better, but like others have said, Ibaka has fallen off hard

I'd still take him over Ibaka, just because his shooting ability is extra valuable in the 3-era, but Monroe isn't much worse.
