i see so many people break their wrists snowboarding. its so easy to prevent too.....

I would suspect there is at least 5 times the amount of twisted ankles/kness with skiing compared to boarding.

I would really like to know how you "prevent" breaking your wrist snowboarding? Do you simply do nothing and slam your face into the ground at which point you slide unconsiously into the trees?

Personally I would just recommend more milk.

i go on a skiing trip with my friend and im the only snowboarder he is sortof scared of trying new stuff and i literally beg him to try snowboarding and tell him so many people switch over how do i get him to get the fuck onto a snowboard

Its almost impossible bro

90% of people arent open to opinion and dislike change.

If they are skiiers they will hate snowboarding despite not even trying it, or the new odd feeling turns them away instantly.
Same for snowboarding with skiing.

And to other guy,

Snowboarding is extremely prone to wrist breaking, fracturing etc. My best bud broke his wrist, and i fractured mine on the same day haha.
Both my wrists are permanently weakened for football, lifting weights, etc... from snowboarding, they will never heal most likely.

Skiers are prone to ACL MCL tears, and even broken legs. My good buddy tore his ACL + MCL last season, and is never skiing again due to it.

spoken like somebody who knows absolutely nothing about snowboarding

Everything in skiing is easier, its just facts bro, I skied and competed in freestyle til i was 10 (could do 360, daffy, twister, all the ez tricks) and then picked up snowboarding. Never looked back. Ended up competing and making it to junior nationals ages 13-17 for halfpipe.

There is so much more than "the basics of snowboarding"... have you ever seen snowboard racers? you'll understand that theres a ton more to it than recklessly throwing yourself around like a ski racer. I think once you get the basics of skiing then there isnt much else for racing, atleast until your at d1 college teams... srsly bro, point skis down mountain.. keep knees bent... have some small ammount of balance... go 1000mph without ever falling

Freestyle skiing is easier because you can go faster on skiis, you can flat land from higher on skiis, and air awareness is easier because your not landing/popping sideways. Mastering freestyle snowboarding is not easier than mastering freestyle skiing, just more people choose to do it.

trust me bro, ive been all around the best skiers and snowboarders and i can faithfully say that skiing is waaay easier

The main difference between the two is poping, and the fact u are facing sideways on a snowboard.

Jumping on skis is like jumping on your feet(somewhat), facing forward and popping off the balls of your feet(somewhat but u get what im saying)

Popping off snowboards, is such a fucking un-natural feeling at first, IT IS NOTHING, like jumping on a skateboard or on your feet.

You are popping off both of your feet at once, and its more about leaning your whole body to the tail and back quickly(in simple terms), ur flexing the board to jump and popping of both feet. Rather than jumping.
It can be hard to even spin without going off-axis for 90% of people on snowboards because the mechanics are different.

Tricking in snowboarding is just such an un-natural feeling at first especially, because its nothing like the mechanics of the rest of life. When is anything we do in life moving sideways?
Skiing also is very different from life, but shares the basic mechanics of walking, jumping, facing forward while moving, driving, running, turning.

While running, we lean side to side in order to corner, Cars lean sideways to corner, motorcycles, same with skating, boats, jet skis, its the natural movement of our body and most things we do.
How often are u moving sideways and turn without facing side to side, instead back and forth?

Its a funny feeling at first, and its different than what we are used to, Leaning back and forth, and moving sideways. This is why i believe people who snowboard find it so much more exhilarating than skiing,
Like so many say, Snowboarding feels like your Flying, or Gliding, because its a great feeling thats nothing like everything else in life.

skiing is superior because there's more that you can do on skis. You can take it to more extreme levels. Alpine skiing>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>anything snowboard related.

ball your wrists and fall on your forearms. or get the braces but a lot people dont get them. I saw a girl litterally land softly on her wrist and broke it easisly. I only see careless people twist their ankles/knees when skiing.

lol u cant choose to fall on ur forearms when ur bailing bro lol. If ur bailing off a 720 or rodeo there is know way u chose to fall, or even falling off a box awkwardly. Its 1000% instincts that u cannot overpower when ur in the midst of fucking up.

Just, dont fall as much? or wear wrist guards if ur really that affraid. If ur not at the jump level, or moving very very fast level. Than ya u can try to maybe fall on your face and body more than your wrists. But as soon as you are in a real situation of getting hurt, moving fast or off a jump... u have zero control on how u fall.

In really extreme situations, like going down narrow mountain ledges with sharp corners, ski's give you better control.
like this situation for example: http://www.wallpapergate.com/wallpaper10154.html
Could you do that on a snowboard without dying? I don't know, I'm not experienced enough to know. But that's how it appears to me.

Also, natural terrain stuff like going in between tight trees and over rocks etc... the snowboard just aint designed to handle that type of stuff.
