15 hours drive
i'd almost be tempted if that spot is really good but as i said, no assistant mean no weekend off and no fishing
it's all good tho
i'm planning like 8 to 10 fishing trips of 3-4 days for next year..my boss better remember the 60 hours weeks i'm doing right now lol

I thought you meant like some to go fishing with by assistant...lol I was like hell I got an awesome spot, been in my family over 100 years now, I can use it anytime I want, we even have a farm house that we can stay in if ice fishing is your thing. Pike/muskie through the ice is an adventure of a lifetime.

It's not about having the best and newest gear. Hell I love getting out my old cane poles and doing some pan fishing off the bank, it's cheap and still fun.

i started with basically nothing so i had to buy every lures
Every rod, every reel
I did go with quality stuff but even if i would have bought cheap equipment..it would add up to thousands anyway
And its worth spending when u can cast 20 feet longer then somebody else
I still need to buy about 6 rods
Alot more lures
And 1 or 2 more tackle box
Wader
Etc

My bank account felt it this year since this is the first time I got serious with it and bought a lot of gear. I've also committed to working off a jig so I lose a lot of them and at $4 each it's not a cheap method.

Ya, I love floating rapalas for bass fishing, but I lose them alot too, and they add up. It all does. It's still fun just to dig up some worms and make your own hooks and try to catch something. I like to test myself like that.

The private lake is where I go to most often, and it's max depth of ~12 feet, with heavy vegetation and rocks. So the only thing you can really go to without the retrieve being fucked is a jig or soft plastic, so that leads to me starting with a jig pretty much everywhere else. (I don't really like the idea of running poppers to shore instead of away from it and there's no frogs naturally in there)

Have you tried weedless worms? I love them for thick vegetation for bass. Around here they seem to like purple rubber worms the best.

Was counting them as part of soft plastics. I have a pouch in my backpack dedicated to Senkos. Black/red or green/chartreuse are killer here. Can't go wrong with any kind of purple or black though.
