Thats awesome. It's cooling off here bigtime, this morning low is 64, tomorrow they are predicting 39 for a low, better cover up my outdoor crop I guess.

Shot right back up to mid 80s here all week. Hoping for more rain tomorrow and a cooler weekend.

I can't wait to get a weekend for myself to fish, guiding is cool, but I like just going for myself and not having to do everything for everyone. I mean they pay so it's not a big deal, but not the same as going myself with buddies and having a blast.

Any recommendations for a nice butterfly knife for general uses? Mainly use it for fishing and work. Ones I've bought have been cheap and broken down, so I'd like something a little more permanent that won't dull too soon. (Butterfly because it's easily concealable and I live in the suburbs.)

butterfly is not really for general use, I carry a Gerber Diesel, and and officer swiss army knife. between them i have everything. I carry a gun for general purposes.

It's not for wildman use like you, haha. I have a Leatherman multitool that's served me well. There's a small pair of scissors and screwdrivers in my tackle bag for anything along those lines. In everyday use, I need something that's comfortable in my pocket all day and can be legally justified. (Note - NJ law says you cannot carry ANY knife unless you have a justifiable reason for it. So I can get away with it for work and fishing to an extent, but I couldn't carry something like a Bowie knife) Butterfly knife then becomes the most universally justifiable/useful since I'm not a fan of utility knives.

gerber/browing folding knife would be a good choice

or something with a thin blade like this one

That would suck. Here you can carry any size knife, as long as it is not concealed, same with a gun. You can walk around with a pistol in a holster and a bowie knife on the other side, like the old west. If you have a concealed weapons permit, pretty much anything goes, except not supposed to carry in a school or bank, courthouse, etc. The only place they really even check here is courthouses. Most schools don't even have metal detectors.

Was going to have a nice campfire tonight and it rained all day, that sucks, no dry wood anywhere.
