They run for about 6 to 8 weeks here. Sometimes longer and sometimes shorter depending on weather and how many fish of maturity there are coming up the river to spawn.When I was a kid, you could literally walk across their backs in spots where they were spawning. Commercial fishing on the big lake has raped a bunch of them. I usually go on the Pierre Marquette river here in Michigan.
