Olympic sports and professional sports are different. Some collide, but beside that it's way different. I'd say top level FIGHTING is the hardest, because fighting is the toughest. MMA, is obviously the hardest sport to compete at at a top level. To stay in the UFC is very hard. harder than anything else. There are no 10 year contracts at 9-15~ a year, it's per fight, and you can be gone whenever you are inconsistent.
Consistency does not dictate your contract in pro sports( you can be shit and still get paid).This makes MMA the hardest. A better man will always be there, and he will take your spot, which can end up making u fall down in ranks, or make you LEAVE the organization completely. 1 year for a pro player in a sport means NOTHING. 1 Year to a fighter can mean back to "poverty" or luxury.
as far as making it to UFC..it's pretty easy, u don't have to be a superstar
they actually need scrubs to fight, they can't fil a night with 10 gsp, they don't have the money for that
