wth are you talking about?
he's not buying a pair of shoes, its a freaking paintball gun

He's played recreationally a couple times and wants to purchase something he has very little information about?

Thats so retarded. Thats like buying a car without test driving it, or even inspecting it.

Shit, what if he orders it and its not comfortable to him? Hes gotta take the time and money to ship it back?

Plus, when you get a gun from a local store, they normally put it under warranty for a long time, if not forever.

Good luck getting a valve spring replaced or a reg replaced when ordering online..

what information could he need? really
there's no stock on both guns(he said a5 or 98) so he doesn't need to think about comfort
and what ever he could dislike about the gun, he can change it and upgrade it
you said it your self, he only played a couple times so it's not like he'd be picky about what he want
he should just choose the gun he like the most and if he have any doubt he can read review on how accurate each guns are or w/e he want to know

if he order it from a website, he will most likely save around 100$ and maybe more if he's going to buy a kit
they also have warranty, most website offer free shipping if there's any problem when you open the box(you have like 1 month to ship it back)

......

i'm unsure why you are going balistic?... everyone has to start somewhere. ive shot before, but that was my brothers brass eagle.....

sure i've never played before, but i can fucking read and that's all i have been doing for the past few days. I've read so many mixed reviews on the a5 and 98....everyone loves both of them.

I went with the 98 custom pro and here's why...

According to what i read, both guns can be customized easily.

the 98cp is lighter, more accurate (fully stock). It consumes less c02 but has a slower bps.

has the double trigger

the cons i reasd for the 98cp were that it was a little more difficult to clean and thats really it.

why i didnt chose the A5.. ( although i loved the look compared to the 98c)

heavier (not too big of a concern)
it's louder
uses more c02
the cyclone is nice but i really dont need to shoot faster, i would rather make precise shots...plus if i really want it i can upgrade it on the 98cp
it was $20 more (not too big of a concern)

i know paintball is an expensive sport, but i definintly dont need to be going through balls and co2 like a maddman.

i was thinking about getting the egrip for the 98c which was $199, but ide only be getting it for the 3 burst.

Who said anythin about automatic?

You can still fire off 14bps on semi automatic...

Ah, sorry. Should've clarified.

I meant pump vs. semi. I don't know of anyone personally that still uses an auto.

first off iplay weith ramp but not gong to get techinical but the whole full auto vs semi is stupid becsaue if he is just getting into the game let him get a tippmann or a spider because they are in high demand and if he does not stick to paintball he xcan sell that timpmann for more than and of the more expenisve guns and the more exspinsive guns take way more matnance than a "noob" can handle..i have benn playing tournament paintball and stil ahve to have tech look at my marker every now and then..so let him get a tippmann if he wants a tippmann
