celtics and lakers r just such interesting likeable teams that have good competition together almost every year

yankees r fucking gay, every hates those pretentious rich uptight pricks, and if ur not from boston, u probably dont care or like the redsox, theyre just a team with a bunch of fans that r bitter about their team being mediocre (trust me ive been to many redsox games and ive seen how ppl behave if someone comes in a non-redsox jersey)

theres no rivalry in american hockey, canada is just too far better than americans at hockey so it doesnt matter

every season the sox and yanks battle for the wild card or a spot in the playoffs. If you want to go by how many times the teams have face each other......sox yankees beat celtics lakers by thousands... Although the sports differ. Not to mention the sox yanks rivalry was in action 40+ years more than lakers celtics

To be civil....I think we can both say we are both right concerning that red sox/yanks are the biggest rivalry in baseball while celtics/lakers are the biggest in basketball.

Rivalry for 100+ years

He's saying that it isn't much of a rivalry because the Yankees win 80% of the time. You can't have a rivalry without a decent match-up. Until recently, there was no real rivalry between the two teams. The Red Sox weren't a real challenge for the Yankees. They were just another shitty team for the Yankees to stomp.

Referring to a Wiki article that says there's been a rivalry for over a hundred years doesn't mean shit. It's Wikipedia for God's sake.

Everyone knows that it's the biggest in Baseball, but by no means the biggest in all sports. I'm a baseball fan, but Celtics-Lakers is clearly the bigger rivalry.
