very cool!
post more and maybe some details on ur gear
Fairly standard gear up here for winter.
Beaver or Wolf mitts in the winter. Seal in the spring
Seal Mukluks with wool duffels until its wet then any skidoo boot.
Homemade or Canada goose parka (i rock a homemade) Needs a very large fur trim on the hood since you need to create a tunnel of heat around your face.
Homemade or Canada goose snow pants
Hat can be whatever since your hood does the work.
Canvas tent 7x9 is good and easy to heat. Typical heating since you're travelling, a lot of those dual burner Coleman stoves that use Naphtha. I travel with two always and enough Naphtha to burn multiple nights.
Caribou hide works best for floor / sleeping, its light and has a good R value.
Gas powered ice auger at least 33CC , preference is 8 inch since 10 inch kills you when its a 7 foot hole. If my fish cant fit up the 8 inch hole so be it.
Everything gets tossed on a 12 foot komotik. Some people use 16s but I don't go out for a week at a time hunting so I dont use a 16. I dont rely on hunting to feed me for the entire year like some do who are hauling multiple caribou or muskox back (field dressed).
In terms of fishing gear. Mostly just wooden hockey sticks cut up and used as jiggers. Any spoon will do, 5 of diamonds, red devil, whatever. We have a mass abundance of wildlife and almost no humans and no commercial harvesting. You can catch them with anything. In summer I do some casting once the lake ice melts again just with spoons and it works great. No skill or fancy gear required. Just heavy line and spoons.
Ill toss up a few more pictures in a bit. My face is in a lot of them so I don't really want to post those. I don't know how graphic I am allowed to post since I have some whale pics but their heads are cut off , same with caribou.
Theres a lack of winter pictures since its just too cold to use my hands on my phone.
