There are lots of guys who hunt with ARs. Ive heard a lot of people use shorter barreled ARs with silencers for hog hunting. I think 300 blackout is supposed to be a good caliber for hunting too.
And there are tons of long range ARs out there. I imagine a similar hunting set up for an AR is more expensive then other rifles but you can build a pretty accurate AR for hunting quite easily and still have a range gun.

I'm talking about people who are building tactical ARs. HALO sights, flashlights and shit to go hunting with, its flat out ignorant. Plus you can get a much better gun for hunting for the same price you would use to build a decent hunting AR.

Ill agree on price, the rest is kinda opinion. If youre hunting at night then a flashlight might not be such a bad idea. And holographic sights are awesome (pricing sucks but...). Definitely not the common choice for hunting but they are not bad sights at all and there are even scoped holographic options.
IMO if I was hunting something that I had to track or chase an AR would be great particularly with a red dot or holographic. Its way easier to get sighted in quickly with a holo

Maybe my opinion just differs because ive been in highstress situations doing this shit, and know how they function in those situations. There are VERY few things you are allowed to shoot after dark, and none of them require an AR to kill.

If you ever get the opportunity try and go to an open military range. I know a good little bit about rifles of sorts, but some of those guys are absolutely brilliant when it comes to them.

Whats the max range you are getting at those ranges? The one I use out here tops at 950meters. One of the largest I've seen that isnt a military range.

Everything is together on my AR. I just gotta check the headspacing to make sure its safe and its ready to fire.

Gotta mount the holo too.
