this is the very first year I do not have a cabin rented for next year and I do not plan to rent one

I bought a kayak and I'm planning to use it a whole lot

I'm already planning a whole week of kayaking next year
the big difference is; a whole lot more pain in the ass to get to the fish(I like it when it's a lil harder...easy fishing isn't for me) and it cost so much less then renting a cabin...I used to get great deals but they are pretty much gone since the last couple years

I have been getting a whole bunch of different lures, brand, sizes, depth, actions, etc ..I should be good to go no matter what the temperature will be

my kayak is good to go anywhere...a 2 feet wave isn't even scaring me anymore..so yeah!
I used to make payment for my cabin at this time of the year but instead..I'm just buying more lures :) +1 for restocking what I lost over the last few years

Good for you max. Buy a tent and camp for way less, it's a lot more fun too to be honest.

I already have all the stuff I need for camping

I have actually been doing some camping-fishing trips for the past 5 years as well
I was only doing it for a couple of days tho because there would be no good lakes available
the cabin used to be cheaper then getting a lake+a camping site so I was like..why the hell not...more comfort, less stuff to bring for cheaper

I would prefer a cabin to be honest because the one I used to rent would be in the middle of nowhere and you just can't beat it...it's amazing
I could throw firecracker and bearbanger all day long and no one would complain about the noise

camping sites are usually somewhat close to each other

Here you can camp on state land and national forests for free, if you just get a permit, all isolated like you are talking about too, where there are no cabins or roads to the lake even.

We need to find a good spot for a 2-3 day kayak/fishing trip that would cost us nothing but our beer and food.

I'd love that
I've actually thought about going down a river and asking a friend to come pick me up a couple days later

I just did some research and I'm surprised.. there's alot of places we could go

a few rivers like ''riviere du nord''
a few lakes too like ''lac des trente et un milles''
