Something smells fishy, that's for sure. I haven't gotten out lately, has been rainy and windy here, and now that its nice I have to work since I own a siding company. Going to go up to my property in the upper peninsula this weekend and try to finish siding my cabin up there. It snowed last time I went up there, so I couldn't get on the roof, and I had to get my Harley in the basement up there since i hadn't put it up for the winter yet or winterized anything for that matter up there, and this storm was a complete surprise. My buddy from Ohio had never been up here, so we had a great time checking out the scenery. I just drywalled the living room and kitchen this summer and I didn't want the roof to leak at those dormers.

I used to more when I was younger. I have fallen through the ice twice and that's made me leary. It was my fault both times, I was pushing the limits, 2 inches can hold you, but it also can break. My buddy I have been fishing with most often wants to start going again this winter, so I'll probably buy a decent shanty and it wont be bad once the ice gets nice and thick. I have a propane heater thats ventless I use in my deer blind, so it wont be bad, we will be drinking beer and fishing in our tshirts even when its 30 below!

Going to buy one of these after I get back from Texas. Seems like a decent deal and a good shanty for 2 guys.

one time was only up to my waist, that was the first time. scared me pretty good and I thought I was going to get frostbite, but my cousins house was pretty close and I managed to make it back there not much worse for the wear. The second time the ice was thin about 2 1/2 to 3 inches and we were going to spear pike, I was spudding the hole, generally we make a 2-3 wide by 4 foot long hole to spear through, before i got half the hole chopped the ice gave out and I was underwater looking up at a darkish mass. Luckily I popped back up into the hoe I fell through and my buddy threw my the rope from our sled and pulled me out and started a fire as fast as he could and went and got help. I don't go out now unless its 6 inches thick or more. I have learned my lesson for sure.

Got her sealed up for the winter this weekend, now the new drywall in the downstairs shouldn't get ruined. I caulked a shit ton on each side where there wall meets the shingles, then I flashed it with a 24" wide piece of metal and put 1/2 thick insulation on the outside. I sided it with Napco 45 year warranty siding. I'm going to put a new roof on it in the spring and do more siding work, possibly sandblast the cedar shake and clearcoat it. Broke the gutters, but I'll replace those next year after the roof is on.
