Whiteside is overrated defensively

I dunno man, he passes my eye test.

People completely steer clear of the lane because of him

"The statistical difference in Miami's defensive performance when Whiteside plays vs. when he sits is startling. With him on the court, the Heat are surrendering 102.5 points per 100 possessions, per NBA.com. When he sits, that number rises to 92.3, which would be the second-best mark in the league. That seems to suggest the Heat have built their ferocious defense in spite of the league's best shot-blocker, not because of him."

" The Heat have mostly used Chris Bosh as the lone big man during crunch time, relegating Whiteside to the bench. Whiteside has sat out of six entire fourth quarters this season, and the 4.8 fourth-quarter minutes he receives per game is the fourth-lowest mark on the team."

"The Heat's best lineup this season has been the five-man grouping of Bosh, rookie Justise Winslow, Gerald Green, Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic, per NBA.com. That mix provides spacing on offense, as well as quick feet and even faster thinking on defense. On the other hand, Miami's plodding starting lineup of Whiteside, Bosh, Luol Deng, Dragic and Wade is being outscored by one point per 100 possessions in a significantly larger sample of minutes."

"Upon closer review, it doesn’t appear the highlight rejections are actually deterring the opposition from coming into the lane. Opponents aren’t just shooting better in the restricted area when Whiteside plays (64.3 percent compared to 60.7). They’re also getting to the rim more often."

also just some food for thought: the NBA is very clearly evolving in a game where shooting 3's wins you rings.

The cavs have completely changed their gameplan to become a 3 point shooting team. We clearly know all about GSW and 3's. Kevin Durant himself said "we lost the conference finals because of the 3." You know how Popovich thinks the 3 is a joke cheat-code

He was fatigued, and showed signs of "1st half" play later in the season again. He's not a doozy at all. It was his first season playing 82 games 30 mpg. His defense never wavered even during his slump, as his shot altering capability remained throughout the season.

He's a legitimate 3 and D big man who is capable of doing much more. I'm upset that you're dogging on my boy kristaps just because someone else got him in a draft lol.

He's more than determined to get better....and he will.

Hes still super raw but if he gets consistant hes going to be a force. He sucked whenever I watched him so I never got to see him play well. But he had sick highlights

I like him, I was considering taking him, but his regression is a bit worrisome

So I do a little analysis in my notes. Here's word for word my thoughts on horford over kristaps:

"I also considered kristaps but way too young as he wont hit his prime in this 3 year span "

Keep in mind this was about someone else I just fet like mentioning kristaps.
