Kings and Coho salmon are starting to run here. Running 30 lb test spiderwire and a 5/8" treble hook with spawn sacks. My personal best was a 50" Coho two years ago and I'm hoping to top it this season. Bought some new 1000 gram thinsulate neoprene waders, finally something to keep me warm in that cold ass river water. My buddy Dick got on a couple nice fish yesterday, I lost a giant one and only hooked up that one time all day. The numbers aren't what they are when the run really gets going, but the fish are fresh coming in daily and are healthy looking.

and we saw a bald eagle waiting for the arrival of the salmon run as well.

I am going camping for the weekend October 2nd and 3rd, so hopefully the fish will be stacked up back to back in those holes by then.

Great looking fish. Been on the Betsie River (In Benzonia - South of Traverse City) for the last 2 days. Caught maybe 5-6 between a group of us 15... Super slow this year. Where are you haulin' these beauties in at?

On the Pierre Marquette, inland about 30 miles by Baldwin. It dumps into lake Michigan at Ludington. The DNR used it as one of the rivers they had fisheries on and there are zones you aren't allowed to fish and catch and release only. The run has been slow here this year too, but its still early yet.

Going out to a chain of lakes today since its raining here, I took the day off. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of something I caught later this evening.

Got a couple nice specks and some gills. Caught more gills but they were all about this size or a little smaller.
