Carving on snowboards.. I bet you use a goofy stance on your ski's aswell

skied all life as a kid but switched to snowboarding couple years back..skiing is still hella fun..i love all winter sports but snowboarding just takes the cake for me

Captain obvious... I don't ski Only board. Don't own skis or poles so yes I am not a pro skier. But I have friends that do both. I'll take their word . skiing is easier so you see more people on skies. Going down facing forward with 2 extra edges, please that is EASY.. Best thing about skiers is I get to watch them yardsale and then look for a ski for 20 minutes.

Snowboarding... I find it more of a challenge and tricks look waaayyyy cooler!

The basics of skiing may be easier, but to be a good skiier is harder than to be a good snowboarder. Once you get the basics of snowboarding, all you do is do it faster and on steeper slopes, but if you can get down a slope on ski's you haven't even started yet.

As someone who is a certified ski and snowboard instructor i found that skiing is way better. It makes going into the back country areas more interesting. Also freestyle on skis is way cooler. I used to ski way before i snowboarded and i use to race too so that influences my decisions. I find the skill progression and mechanics to be very much the same. So far i can apply everything i know from skiing to snowboarding.

you say this like theres something skiers can do that snowboarders cant?

and what do you mean all you do is do it faster and on steeper slopes lol? thats more like what skiers do, snowboarders usually go into park or pipe and are usually the only ones doing anything technical in either of those areas. sure skiers have the advantage on moguls and slalom, but lmfao who the fuck cares about moguls or slalom. other than that im not sure what you think skiers do that is so much harder than what snowboarders do ''after the basics''

feel free to explain to me your ideas on what skiers do after the basics that are so much harder than what snowboarders can do.
